This survey is designed to produce an ecology report that can accompany a planning application or detailed ecological analysis for a major engineering/maintenance project.
 
This survey will identify the habitats and protected species present on site and includes the ecological desk study described above.

The survey report classifies the habitats present using recognised criteria and descriptions and indicates their relative ecological value, and describes the protected species that are present. The report details the measures that should be, or are being, put in to place to mitigate or compensate the effects of the proposed development. The report includes details of any environmental designations within 5km of site and discusses how they may influence or be influenced by development.

If present, or suspected as being present, some protected species surveys, e.g. bats, reptiles and Great Crested Newts, may need to be conducted separately.
